Guitarist Ron Asheton of the “Stooges” Found Dead

The Stooges guitarist Ron Asheton has been found dead at his home in Michigan. He was 60. It looks like he died of an apparent heart attack local officials said.

He was one of the original Members of the Stooges along with his brother Scott, bassist Dave Alexander and long time rock icon “Iggy Pop”.

Shinedown Continue on Without Guitarist Nick Perri

Shinedown is scheduled to be on tour in Europe to start 2009, they will be doing it without lead guitarist Nick Perri.
The band has a Video of Nick letting the fans know of his decision, and have moved Zach Myers into the lead guitar role.
Shinedown is currently in the top 20 Charts with “Second Chance” getting a lot of airtime right now. Usually when a band is doing well and currently on tour, this is not a good sign, but when you see the video you can see how Nick feels and there seems to be no hard feelings. It would not surprise anyone to see Shinedown announce a new band member when they head back to the U.S. for the current tour.
