Las Vegas based band The Killers have countersued their former manager Braden Merrick , because the disgruntled former band friend had as the lawsuit states “various instances of unresponsiveness and inability to do his job, such as failing to get the proper visas and running tour promotions and concerts abroad”.
The former manager Merrick had originally filed suit against their current manager, Robert Reynolds and the band for $16 million each, his claim is that The Killers had fired him without any legal justification, and he claims they failed to pay him royalties due him under a producer agreement they previously agreed upon, and that Reynolds, their current manager, had interfered with The Killer’s keeping their promises to him, oh the drama…..
Once large amounts of money are involved, and bands grow out of their current status in the music industry, there always seems to be a lawsuit of some kind. You can research any large band of the last 40 years and find some type of disgruntled former bandmate, roadie or manager wanting to sue for some of money, whether deserving or not, but that is up to the courts.
By the way, The Killers are in Europe touring and have a top 20 modern rock song with their hit “Spaceman” and here is the video……….
